Costs
Last updated: Jun.24.2008 15:27

The housing and food fee will be a minimum of $525 per person, and the total cost for all competitors staying at UW housing will be $600. It is possible that we will be able to refund part of this amount on registration day.

This price includes 10 nights in the University dorms including two all-you-can-eat meals per day on competition days. There is a $20 allowance for meals on non-competition days. Also, two of the dinners will be gourmet catered meals on the patio outside the dorms with a view of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains.

The 10 nights included in the $525 price are Aug 17-26. You have the option of staying two extra nights before and two extra nights after the 10 minimum nights. Each night is $42.50 for one bed in a double room. The $42.50 does not include meals, but you can pay cash for all-you-can-eat meals in the same cafeteria. Therefore, if you wanted to stay all 14 nights from Aug 15-Aug 28, the total cost will be $695 per person. This is actually quite cheap for 2 weeks in Seattle!

Anyone planning to stay at the dorms who is not competing on a team must pay the minimum $525 fee by June 1. This includes all volunteers and families and guests of competitors. We are sorry for the early deadline, but we need funds to make good on the large initial payment due to the University. Update: non-team members may still register for housing, even though the deadline has passed. Thank you to those who registered early; it made our initial payment possible.

All team members will need to make the final payment of $600 by July 15. If you have previously sent a deposit of $300, you should send a further $300 by July 15. Note that the $525 fee discussed above only includes housing and food and does not include the rest of the budget: field rental, transportation, lunches on the field, trophies, T-shirts, and so on. We are working hard to cover the non-housing expenses with sponsorship, and we hope to give everyone a small refund at registration day.

See the "How to pay" section for information on how to send payments.
